Saba manages car parking operations for University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust
There are three main hospitals Royal Bournemouth Hospital, Poole Hospital and Christchurch Hospital. Ongoing developments across the sites continue. The Royal Bournemouth Hospital will become the major emergency hospital and Poole Hospital will become the major planned hospital, alongside other services provided for east Dorset. Christchurch Hospital incorporates the Day Hospital which provides rehabilitation for our older population, the Macmillan Unit which provides specialist palliative care, rheumatology, and dermatology. Car parking changes across the sites
Patient and Visitor Car Parks
We will be introducing ANPR controlled access and egress pay on exit at some car parks across the UHD estate.
- This will include new payment machines, barriers and ANPR new cameras.
- Blue badge and credit/debit card readers at barriers on exit as well as payment machines.
- Each entry/exit and payment machine will have intercom capability 24/7 365 days per year – to improve customer service.
- 24-hour customer support centre.
Staff Car Parking
We are set to introduce, with the Trusts current policy, a new online staff e-permit portal.
- Staff permit criteria to be determined and agreed with the Trust
- Staff would be able to access a user-friendly online account-based staff e-permit portal
- Complete applications online
- Receive email notifications to confirm acceptance (or rejection and the appeal process) for an e-permit application
- Add/change vehicle registration number
- Still paid for by salary sacrifice
- Saba will draft the portal FAQs and Terms & Conditions for the system
- Further information and access to the portal will be issued in the coming months
Concessions
Concessions for Patients & Visitors attending Royal Bournemouth Hospital, Christchurch Hospital and Poole Hospital
Disabled people
- A disabled person is a holder of a valid Blue Badge attending hospital as a patient or visitor or is a disabled person employed by the hospital Trust.
- Disabled patients and visitors receive free parking for the duration of their attendance at, or visit to, the hospital.
- Disabled employees receive free parking while at the hospital for purposes relating to their employment.
Frequent outpatient attenders
- Parking will be provided free to all outpatients who attend hospital for an appointment at least three times within a month and for an overall period of at least three months. A ‘month’ is defined as a period of 30 days.
Parents of sick children staying overnight
- The parent of a child in hospital overnight is a parent or guardian of a child or young person, under 18 years of age, who is admitted as an inpatient at hospital overnight.
- They receive free parking between the hours of 19:30 and 08:00 while visiting the child. This would apply to a maximum of two vehicles.
Staff working night shifts
- Staff working night shifts are members of staff with a shift starting after 19:30 and ending before 08:00.
- They receive free parking for the duration of their shift.
