Phillip Herring, Managing Director

Phillip joined Saba as Commercial Director in October 2005 and in January 2013 was promoted to the role of Managing Director, with overall responsibility for running the business.

Since joining Saba, Phillip has been instrumental in driving the quality-focused approach to our operations, and has overseen the successful integration of many management and design, build, finance and operate (DBFO) contracts into the company portfolio. He firmly believes that providing the best quality services are crucial to maintaining strong working relationships with our clients and consequently securing long term business.

Prior to joining Saba Phillip was engaged in the field of civil engineering as a partner with the Stillwell Partnership in the public and private sectors, specialising in the fields of traffic management and car parking.

Lee Hales, Operations Director

Lee joined Saba in 2007 as a Regional Commercial Manager and in 2010 progressed to Operations Director with responsibility for service delivery to clients and members of the public, across the varied sectors the business operates in. This includes managing the team of Regional Commercial Managers, managing internal and external facing KPIs, developing long term relationships in the private and public sectors, and creating local field-based growth through sales, marketing, and networking.

Lee provides an important source of additional expertise to the operation and participates in the contract review and monitoring process on a quarterly basis or as often as necessary.

Lee was previously a Senior Manager responsible for delivering a successful operating business in a portfolio of 12 self-storage facilities in the South East of England, including six new build projects. Responsibilities included managing key accounts, yield management, recruitment, and learning and development.

Leeann Skilling, HR Director

Leeann joined Saba in January 2011 as the HR Director. Leeann’s role is pivotal to Saba realising its ambition to empower frontline staff to make decisions – critical in a business of over 600 staff, where 90% are client-facing.

As a member of the Senior Management Team and Board of Directors, Leeann has accountability for both the operational and strategic people activity within the UK including Health & Safety and Learning & Development. It is within her role to create a robust People Strategy which is forward thinking and ensure Saba UK have a culture where people are equipped and enabled to add real value to the business today and have the adaptability and resilience to fulfil the demands and needs of the stakeholders tomorrow.

Leeann was instrumental in Saba achieving ‘Investors in People’ (Gold) in 2018 and Investors in Diversity status in 2013.

Gary Pickard, Finance Director

Gary joined Saba as a Finance Director and Company Secretary in August 2011.

Gary previously worked as a Chief Financial Officer at Arup’s Europe, Middle East & Africa Division. A Civil Engineering graduate, Gary was responsible for financial management of Arup’s engineer projects across 16 countries.
