Blue Badge Parking - Hospitals and Healthcare Centres

Blue Badge Parking - Hospitals and Healthcare Centres

Blue Badge Parking at Hospitals and Health Centres

Parking at Hospitals and Health Centres is free for Blue Badge Holders. At car parks which are either managed using barrier-controlled or Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras (ANPR), there will be a requirement to register your parking session via the parking equipment by scanning the bar code on your blue badge either at the payment machine or at the exit barrier. Further details can be found on the car park signage, and payment machine(s), as well as speaking to a member of the parking team.

At car parks which are Non-ANPR, all that is required is to clearly display a valid Blue Badge in the front windscreen at all times whilst parked.

Please Note: Blue Badge Holders are still required to adhere to the terms of parking. This includes

  • Parking within a marked bay only
  • Not overstaying in time-restricted areas (such as 3-hour maximum stay)
  • No parking on double and single yellow/red lines or hatched areas
  • Not parking in an area restricted to permit holders or emergency vehicles only
  • Not parking in an area restricted to electric vehicles only

The UK Blue Badge Scheme

Details of the Blue Badge Handbook can be found on the .Gov website. Please however note that the Blue Badge Scheme is intended for on-street parking only. Off-street car parks such as shopping centres, hospitals, station car parks etc. are subject to separate rules - such as car park tariffs and not being permitted to park on double yellow lines.
