We offer a number of exemptions and reductions for parking charges for some patients and visitors. If you fall into one of these categories then please take your signed Form/Carer’s Passport from the senior ward staff on the unit to the Parking Shop located at the Tower multi-storey car park. Where we will then process the exemption for you.
Exemptions From Parking Charges include:
Where parents are staying overnight with children in the Children's Wards
Out-patients are having dialysis or radio/chemotherapy
Holders of an official Carer's Passport
Weekly or Fortnightly Parking Permits apply for individual cases where the patient has been an in-patient for 14 days or more. An in-patient of Critical Care Services has been receiving critical care interventions for more than three days and continues to so. Or if after three days you are diagnosed as terminally ill or you’ve been an in-patient in Neonatal/Special Care for more than three days or you are an out-patient with multiple appointments in one week. It is £21.50 for the weekly and £43.00 for a fortnightly permit which is non-refundable.
Booking Terms
The car park is open 24/7 and charges apply 24/7.Sandford Road Car Park uses Automatic Number Plate Recognition(ANPR), on entry you need to take a ticket and pay on exit when you leave the hospital after your appointment. There are two payment machines, one located behind the Parking Office which only accepts contactless payments or Apple Pay. The other payment machine is located outside of East Block, and payment for parking can be made using cash,card, contactless or Apple Pay.
Blue Badge Holders
Blue Badge holders can park free of charge, in order to gain a free exit. Users must scan the barcode on the ticket and then the barcode on the reverse of your valid Blue Badge card.
