The Tower Multi-Storey Car Park uses Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR). On entry you need to take a ticket and pay on exit when you leave the hospital after your appointment. There are two payment machines located in the main stairwell closest to the lifts on the groud floor. These machines accept both cash card cashless or Apple Pay. There is one machine located next to the Parking Office on the ground floor and accepts contactless payments and Apple Pay only.
There is a 15 minutes grace facility for public and disabled drop-off/pick-up that allows you the time to find your parking space.
NHS Staff Permits must be applied for on the staff permit portal website and use a Trust comnputer. Staff who use the Tower car park on only permitted to park on levels 2 3 and 4 payment is then required at the exit barrier only.
Blue Badge Holders
There are 25 bays located outside the multi-storey car park for use. Parking is free of charge to Blue Badge holders but you must display a valid Blue Badge ID card in the front windscreen at all times when parked. If you are a Blue Badage Holder and park within the multi-storey. To gain a free exit please scan your ticket and barcode on the rear of the valid Blue Badge card at any machine.
Concessions and Permits
Exemption from parking charges apply in individual cases where parents are staying overnight with children in the Children's Wards; out-patients are having dialysis, radio or chemotherapy or holders of an official Carer's Passport
Weekly or Fortnightly Parking Permits apply for individual cases where the patient has been an in-patient for 14 days or more; an in-patient of Critical Care Services has been receiving critical care interventions for more than three days and continues to so, or if after three days you are diagnosed as terminally ill or you’ve been an in-patient in Neonatal/Special Care for more than three days or you are an out-patient with multiple appointments in one week. It is £21.50 for the weekly and £43 for a fortnightly permit which is non-refundable.
