The Doncaster Royal Infirmary is a large acute hospital with 800 beds, a 24-hour Emergency Department (ED), and trauma unit status. In addition to a full range of hospital care, it also provides some specialist services including vascular surgery. It has inpatient, day case and outpatient facilities.

Park and Ride Service for Staff, Patients and Visitors

There is a FREE Park & Ride service for staff, patients, and visitors between Doncaster Racecourse and Doncaster Royal Infirmary. Parking is free of charge for all users, regardless of how long you park.

There will be no charge for those showing a Local Authority Bus Pass or a Disability Permit. In addition, the Trust is extending the same concessions offered for on-site parking for patients and their visitors in connection with renal, cancer, intensive care, critical care, palliative care, and parents and guardians of children in neonatal and special care baby units.

Staff presenting an official NHS ID badge will also travel free.

These changes will not apply to the shuttle bus services between Doncaster Royal Infirmary and Montagu Hospital or the service that runs between Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals. The shuttle bus stop at Bassetlaw is located outside the maternity entrance.

Shuttle Bus Service

Bassetlaw Hospital and Doncaster Royal Infirmary: The Trust provides a free direct shuttle service to link the hospital sites of Bassetlaw Hospital (the bus stop is located outside the maternity department), and Doncaster Royal Infirmary. To book a seat on the shuttle service please telephone the Transport Department on 01909 572424. Click here to view the shuttle’s timetable.

Doncaster Royal Infirmary and Montagu Hospital: This free service runs directly between the sites and takes approximately 30 minutes.  The bus stop at Montagu is outside the main entrance on Adwick Road and at DRI is outside the main Outpatient's entrance at Gate 3. To guarantee a seat on the bus, telephone free phone number on any day Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 16:40 on 0800 953 66 33. If unable to book in advance seats will be allocated subject to availability. The shuttle operates from Monday to Friday inclusive EXCEPT Bank Holidays. Click here to view the shuttle’s timetable.

Doncaster Royal Infirmary Park and Ride: Available for hospital staff, patients and visitors runs between Doncaster Racecourse, Car Park ‘A’ on Leger Way, Doncaster and DRI, Gate 3, (Outpatients & Emergency entrances), Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays) between 05:50 and 22:00. 

The bus journey normally takes 5 – 7 minutes. Please allow adequate time to park your vehicle and ride up to the hospital in good time for your appointment.
