How to pay for parking
Sandford Road Car Park uses Automatic Number Plate Recognition(ANPR), on entry, you need to take a ticket and pay on the exit when you leave the hospital after your appointment. There are two payment machines, one located behind the Parking Office which only accepts contactless payments or Apple Pay. The other payment machine is located outside of East Block, and payment for parking can be made using cash, card, contactless, or Apple Pay. Alternatively, you can pay for your parking stay using the contactless card readers at the exit barriers.
We’ve even a 20-minute grace facility for public and disabled drop-off/pick-up that allows you time to find your parking space.
Blue Badge Holders
All car parks across the hospital site have several disabled bays for Disabled Blue Badge holders and may park free in accessible spaces. If you are unable to find a vacant accessible disabled space, you must pay for your parking at the current patient and visitor rates advertised across the car parks. Disabled Blue Badge Holders – parking in a barriered ANPR car park – can do so free of charge but must scan their ticket and valid Blue Badge card at the payment machine before exit.
The car parks across the hospital site operate either, Pay and Display or Pay on Exit system. Using the Pay and Display car parks, you’ll need to purchase a ticket and display this in your windscreen before heading off to your hospital appointment or to visit a friend or relative. There is a 20 minutes grace facility for an ambulance, public and disabled drop-off/pick-up that also enables people the opportunity to find a car parking space.
